All of windows users must have seen a windows key on your keyboard. The key with a windows icon on it. the one on the right and left of the Alt key after the space bar. ya the same one. on pressing this the Start menu is displayed. but this key is the most unused key in the keyboard and it has various short cut functions which can make the working on the computer faster and much simpler. some of the functions and their combinations are given below.

| WINKEY + D | Minimizes all windows and returns the user to the desktop. |
| WINKEY + M | Minimizes all windows. |
| WINKEY + SHIFT + M | Undo the minimize. |
| WINKEY + E | Open Microsoft Explorer. |
| WINKEY + Tab | Cycle through open programs through the taskbar. |
| WINKEY + F | Display the Windows Search / Find feature. |
| WINKEY + CTRL + F | Display the search for computers window. |
| WINKEY + F1 | Display the Microsoft Windows help. |
| WINKEY + R | Open the run window. |
| WINKEY + Pause / Break key | Open the system properties window. |
| WINKEY + U | Open Utility Manager. |
| WINKEY + L | Lock the computer (Windows XP and above only). displays the welcome screen if you have multiple users and can change users. |
