Almost all of us use yahoo messenger very frequently or daily in our day to day life but most of us never go for productivity shortcuts being provided in order to increase our productivity. I am telling you that using shortcuts greatly reduces your time taken for doing a particular operation.
So i am going to list some of the coolest keyboard shortcuts which will make you more productive with yahoo messenger.
The keyboard shortcuts used to activate menus in Yahoo! Messenger -
- Activate “Messenger” menu = Alt + C
- Activate “View” menu = Alt + V
- Activate “Contacts” menu = Alt + C
- Activate “Help” menu = Alt + H
- Add a Contact = Ctrl + Shift + A
- Change My Display Image = Ctl + Shift + K
- Close = Ctrl + Q
- Find Contacts in Address Book = Ctrl + F
- Messenger Help = F1
- “Online Presence” = Ctrl + Shift + S (You can only use this when a name is selected within your Messenger list. It basically enables you to alter it so that a particular person sees you as being offline even when you’re online to everyone else.)
- Place a Call = Ctrl + L (This will launch BT communicator)
- Preferences = Ctrl + Shift + P
- Refresh = Ctrl + R
- Send an Instant Message = Ctrl + M (this opens the “message compose” window)
- Send a Text Message = Ctrl + T
- Send an Email = Ctrl + Y
- Sign Out = Ctrl + D
- Toggle between “Messenger List” and “Address Book” in the main screen = Ctrl + Tab
- Toggle between showing all contacts and only showing those contacts that are currently online = Ctrl + H
